Traditional Jewish weddings have many elements to them.
We had an amazing kosher wedding at The Avenue Banquet Hall on Monday.
Before the wedding ceremony, we had the kabbalat panim for the bride in the foyer of The Avenue. The bride sat on a throne like chair surrounded by her mother, the groom’s mother and her grandparents. The room was filled by all the females attending the wedding. A harvest table with vegetable crudite and dips was served.
The chosen’s tish took place in The Boulevard and was attended by all the men guests at the wedding and the rabbis. Seated at the head table were the groom, the groom’s father and the rabbi. Around the table were all the male guests attending the wedding. The men toasted and sang to the groom. After the festivities and prayer the groom was escorted to The Avenue by all the men. The men ate shmaltz herring and vegetable crudite with dips. Alcohol was abundant and served to all the men.
